Allison Moore and Scott Vandervoet participated in a meeting with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to discuss updates from the public meeting on alternatives to upgrading Ruby Road, the East and West Frontage Roads, and Rio Rico Drive.  Participants in the meeting talked about the public feedback, analyzed the options again, and discussed next steps. The FPAA reiterated the importance of creating two-way traffic on the entirety of the East Frontage Road in addition to upgrades to Ruby Road.  The FPAA also reiterated points from official comments from the FPAA on a preference for option D, the diverging diamond, when upgrading Ruby Road.  The FPAA submitted formal comments early in October at the direction of the FPAA transportation committee and the board of directors.  The engineers conducting this study will continue the project looking at environmental impacts and creating preliminary design plans for improvements to the Ruby Road and Frontage Road system.
