The FPAA continues to monitor operations at ports of entry related to commercial cargo crossings and increased pressure on border resources due to migrant crossings. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) continues to process commercial cargo, and the FPAA reiterates how important it is to ensure that CBP has resources to continue to staff ports of entry. The FPAA has been in contact with Members of the Congressional Delegation on the importance of this issue over the last several weeks and months. Additionally, the FPAA called for funding for an additional 1,000 CBP offices as part of a coalition of over 20 organizations that are involved in international trade and travel.
