Come Meet an FDA Inspector

What is the first thing you do when the Food and Drug Administration comes knocking on your door?  Is your front office prepared to meet an FDA inspector and direct them to the correct person?  Does your food safety staff know what to do for a Foreign Supplier Verification visit? What about during a food safety inspection?  What is FDA entitled to ask for and what is beyond the scope of their visit?

These are the kinds of questions that members need to consider and plan for.  The FPAA has attended food safety meetings across the country with a variety of produce industry association partners, and the questions of what to expect in an FDA inspection are widespread among the industry.

We want to give you the tools to be prepared.  That’s why we are working work with Domenic Veneziano, Former Director of FDA’s Division of Import Operations & Policy, as he conducts a mock warehouse inspection, teaching you what to expect when the FDA comes knocking and how to prepare for an inspection.

This is your chance to go behind the scenes and get answers to your questions regarding FDA’s Inspectional Process from start to finish.

This exercise will allow you the opportunity to stop an Investigator during an inspection and ask questions that you would not or could not ask during an actual inspection.

This program will help you understand FDA’s inspection process, the forms and tools used by FDA during an inspection, and what FDA’s focus will be during the inspection.

Prepare. Prepare. Prepare. By taking the time now to plan for and prepare for an inspection, you and your company will benefit greatly.  This is a FREE program that your membership dues are bringing back to you as an FPAA member.  The non-member fee is $499, so please take advantage of this great opportunity.

Please mark your calendars for June 7.  The inspection training will take place at Malena Produce, 947 E. Frontage Rd., Rio Rico, AZ, from 9 am-12 pm.  Please RSVP to Emmis Yubeta at emmis@freshfrommexico.com.  Space is limited for this event, so you must register in advance.
