AGRICULTURE INSPECTION ISSUES
Over the years efforts by the FPAA have greatly increased the speed of agriculture inspections for all imported fresh produce. We have successfully lobbied for improvements to expand ports of entry. Our work has streamlined the process for inspections of low-risk commodities and increased the resources available for commodities that require more extensive review. We’ve promoted inspection systems that protect the cold-chain and help preserve the freshness of our produce. We also coordinate allies against unfair trade practices and educate officials on importation issues for Mexican produce.
FPAA ASSISTS INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS WITH SPECIAL PROJECTS
FPAA works with individual members in understanding how existing and new government regulations affect their operating procedures. We assist members in resolving company-specific issues, such as providing guidance and assistance during recall situations and other incidents that could significantly disrupt operations for members.
We also provide crossing data and historical pricing information reports for members upon request. And the FPAA offers a job bank for members looking for new employees.
FPAA AND KEY ORGANIZATIONS
FPAA represents the Mexican produce industry at major annual conventions of major trade associations such as the PMA Convention and United Fresh Produce Association Convention. We also support our industry at a variety of regional produce shows, including Fresh Produce and Floral Council and Southeast Produce Council.
We also participate in numerous committees and advisory councils including the PMA Retail Produce Solutions Show Committee, United Fresh Produce Association’s Government Relations Council and North American Trade Taskforce; the FPAA holds a board seat on Produce for Better Health Foundation.
SEMINARS AND EVENTS FOR MEMBERS
We keep our members up-to-date on the latest industry issues through regular seminars, meetings and our annual convention. FPAA members also have access to the latest crossing, weather and market information through this website.
